Gentle......... gentle characters, gentle setting, gentle humour. A cozy read.

I love Angela Thirkell! Her novels are such fun and the Audible narrations by Jilly Bond are perfect. I cannot wait for more. The characters are simply marvellous and evoke that English stoic middle class way of times gone by. I now want a donkey called Modestine!
