“Many a happy hour she had spent planning for something nice for him. Something fine and rare and sterling—something.”
I hadn’t heard of this classic tale, but this Christmas, a friend of mine read it, plus it was mentioned in a Christmas film. That piqued my curiosity! Imagine my surprise when said friend send it to me!!! :O) Thanks Trish!

Of course I know the tale, but what a delightful telling!

A timeless classic, The Gift of the Magi always struck me, even as a kid in school. A woman wants to buy a gift for her husband at Christmas, so she sells her long hair to get him a chain for his prized watch. He in turn sells his watch to buy her some clips for her beautiful hair. The two give all of themselves to make each other happy. It's a beautiful story.
