As the first "Miss Marple" book I was surprised that she didn't play a larger role, or be the narrator of the book. I think my expectations were aligned to the TV series!
The book is narrated by the Vicar about a murder that occurs in his study. It was quite an enjoyable AC novel, but I think I still prefer Poirot :) ...more

I really didn’t expect the humorous undertone. That never really transpired in the Miss Marple TV series adaptation. Never read any Agatha Christie before, only watched it so far. I was a bit worried about how it would compare with the TV series, I shouldn’t have. I’ve found back everything that I enjoy. I only struggled with remembering the large cast of characters without an actor/actress’s face to link to the names. I’ve enjoyed my first foray into Agatha Christie ‘s literary works.
