This is a beautiful family tree story that is able to wrap up you inside its pages with quirky details and beautiful prose that makes you feel like you are li English:

IMPORTANT: Although this book is considered for teenagers I don't consider it as such. For me it´s an adult book. There are very serious topics involved here such as suicide and suicidal thoughts, depression or violence. If you have problems reading about this topics think about reading it beforehand.

"The strange and beautiful sorrows of Ava Lavender" de Ava Lavender es el mejor libro de 2017 que he devorado hasta la fecha (por desgracia no está disponible en castellano y lo he leído en su lengua original, inglés).
"The strange and beautiful sorrows of Ava Lavender" cuenta la historia de Ava, una niña que nace con alas. Pero su historia no estaría completa sin la de su abuela y la de su madre...y por eso conocemos las historias de éstas primero. Esta historia generacional conecta a las tres mujeres de manera muy curiosa con detalles estrafalarios, pero que tienen luego su sentido, mientras intentan darle sentido a sus vidas y entenderse a sí mismas a la vez que el mundo cambia.
Es mi nuevo libro favorito. Con una prosa excepcional y unos personajes tan únicos y complejos que parecen completamente reales, Walton te hace querer vivir con ellos (y muchas veces parece que lo haces).
¡Un libro de diez!
IMPORTANTE: Aunque este libro está catalogado como juvenil no lo consideraría de ese género, a pesar de su tono fácil. Para mí es para adultos. Además, trata temas sensibles como la muerte, el suicidio o la depresión. Si tienes problemas con estos temas, reflexiona antes de cogerlo.

The writing is gorgeous, Eva is a wonderful character and the love stories are great. I just felt lost and confused sometimes ( do to the audio aspect ? ) and I didn't get into it properly until it was about Vivian. The end was great. ...more
