Found this book to be a little slow in the beginning but as it continued it was fantastic. I really enjoyed the story flow. It didn't have a whole lot of backstory that was separate from the actually story. The author does a really good job of weaving the events in the past with the actually story instead of making it a separate one. Which I find can be hard for a lot of authors. However, Erika Johansen is no sloppy fool and in her hands she creates this rich, complex and brilliant character that comes alive page after page. For starters, she builds a beautifully paced tension that hits a crescendo exactly when it needs to.
