"Perfect for fans of Game of Thrones." -TOR.com

Clearly, the people at TOR.com haven´t picked up George R.R. Martin´s books.
Every time a YA Fantasy book gets compared to ASOIAF/Game Of Thrones I feel like slapping someone.
Comparing a book to another one from the same genre that is successful is a lazy marketing strategy. It makes me not want to read said book. Also, ASOIAF is ADULT FANTASY, it is very different from YA FANTASY, because YA authors are way more limited than adult authors (in e ...more

Damn! It was such a great book. It is hard for me giving it 5 stars because I just finished The mistborn trilogy and THAT is a 5 stars series, but this is YA and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I flew through it. The characters are great and I was surprised of how graphical deads were. It's a pretty rough for I YA book and I loved that -that sounded mobid.
Anyway, I think the plot is great and that there is a lot of good stuffs coming up from this long fantasy series. ...more

I gave this book a 3.5 star rating.
I wasn't necessarily moved wholeheartedly by this book in terms of plot twist and character building, but I am slightly intrigued to see where the author takes the characters in her series next. Therefore, I may pick up the next books in the series eventually. The half star rating was given for the author veering away from making her lead characters become too complacent in love. For once, a cast of YA characters were able to remember they were at war without f ...more

Falling Kingdoms was bad. BUT it actually got better!
The first in a book series is almost always the worst one of them all. Falling Kingdom is a good example for that. In the first book you get to know the setting, the pace and the characters. You learn the different voices of the characters (if there are multiple like in Falling Kingdoms). You learn to care for the story. Sadly, I didn't care about any of the characters in the first 100 pages.

I have to admit, I only liked the people of Auranos in this book. I absolutely despised Jonas and Magnus. This became better by the end of the book which I found to be an epic ending.
Cleo was my favourite character from this book. She broke my heart more than one time.
Morgan Rhodes also isn't afraid to kill off characters and it tugged on my heart strings. I had tears prickling my eyes on multiple occasions.
