"Perfect for fans of Game of Thrones." -TOR.com

Clearly, the people at TOR.com haven´t picked up George R.R. Martin´s books.
Every time a YA Fantasy book gets compared to ASOIAF/Game Of Thrones I feel like slapping someone.
Comparing a book to another one from the same genre that is successful is a lazy marketing strategy. It makes me not want to read said book. Also, ASOIAF is ADULT FANTASY, it is very different from YA FANTASY, because YA authors are way more limited than adult authors (in e ...more

Amazing first intallment to the "Falling Kingdoms" series, I can't wait to pick up the next book. Love, magic, danger, villains and gorgeous protagonists, all together create a mosaic of perfection! Well done, Morgan Rhodes, you made us fall in love with everything in this fictional world!

I have many feelings.. I was so enthusiastic about the first 200 pages of this book… but let me back up and explain. Or at least, let me sum up.

3.5 Falling Kingdoms really took a while to bring me into the story. It is obviously the setup book for the rest of the series. And while things happen in Falling Kingdoms I felt disconnected from every character but Cleo and a little bit of Magnus. I will say that the magic and the worldbuilding is good. I am very intrigued by how everything is going to play out. However I was dissapointed by this first book. I hope this series pulls a Throne of Glass for me wherein the first book isn't the bes

I just don't think it was to my taste as I went back and tried to read it again (without remembering Id read It before) and I just couldn't restart it. Sadly, although the rave reviews I don't think ill be continuing with this series

I quite enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to continuing on with the series. There was great character development and the magic felt more authentic than in some stories I've read in the recent year. However, 4 stars was my rating because every now and then things got a bit predictable. It didn't take away from the storytelling and writing style though. I still enjoyed it a lot.
