Some people go crazy over stories like this. I enjoyed it for what it was. It's about a little girl... late elementary...early Jr. High? I have no idea. She used to have a lot of friends, but now she is chubby and people tease her. It's relatable. Not every one is skinny. But it's not my shame so it wasn't as gripping as it would be to some one else. If I read a graphic novel about a poor kid who grew up in the middle of a sex and drug induced household then I'd be like this story was amazing.

This is one of the most touching graphic novels I've ever read, a beautifully presented story of bullying, friendship and hope. Relatable and profound for readers of any age. Just stunning.

I’d heard amazing things about this graphic novel but wanted to read Jane Eyre before picking this one up as it does spoil the storyline slightly.
This is a sad but sweet tale of a lonely little girl who seeks solace in books, particularly Jane Eyre. With the help of this book and a brief meeting with a fox, the girl learns more about herself and how to ignore the bullies who are tormenting her.

Took me all of 15 minutes to read, here are my thought:
-I loved the illustrations,I thought they were absolutely gorgeous. I loved the use of grey and color, I thought it set the tone of the book really well.
-I enjoyed the fact that I could relate to the character, as young as she is, since I myself was bullied by friends when I was in school.
Other than that though I didn't find the story line to be anything special, and that's my fault for going into it with high expectations, maybe...

I was dying to get my hands on this graphic novel as soon as I saw it, and eventually decided to treat myself. I thought it was a beautiful little story, and parts of it, for me, were very emotional because it hit so close to home. Essentially this is a story about a young girl, Hélène, who is being bullied by girls who used to be her friends; in particular they make fun of her appearance and she has terrible body confidence and self-esteem issues. Graphic Novel about a girl who is bullied. She reads Jane Eyre (if you haven't read it before you get spoilers). She meets a fox and makes a friend. The art work was beautiful. Great quick read.
