In 1934, noted archeologist Max Mallowan with his wife, Agatha Christie, headed to Syria to begin archeological digs of Tells in Northeastern Syria that promised to disclose much about pre-roman times, down to the virgin soil. They were to return for the season each year until WWII interfered. This is Agatha Christie's memoir of their lives on those digs: the work, the people, the experiences. It tells us how they lived.

Agatha Christie's memoir of her time on an archaeological dig with her husband.

I've been reading Miss Marple and Inspector Poirot for years and had an idea of who Agatha Christie was but this Agatha is very different. She's adventurous in her personal life not just in detective stories and has a lovely sense of humor and wit about her.
