WE WERE LIARS
E. Lockhart

WE WERE LIARS is a YA novel that involves the Sinclairs, who are rich, terribly privileged, certainly dysfunctional, spoiled, and unproductive, engaged in family conflict and ruled by an elderly heavy-handed patriarch. Disappointing. Confusingly written with paragraphs flipping from present time to older memories but very unclear as to which was which at times.
I read the whole book and the ending was somewhat of a surprise, but I would not recommend.
Unless you're a very privelaged Young rich girl with amnesia, you will not relate.

What was the point of this story?! I am so extremely confused!! First of all it is written similar to how a 5 year old writes their first story. “I saw a dog. The dog was brown. The dog ran. The dog jumped.” That drove me insane from the start. This book is depressing and sad but with absolutely no point or closure to make it worth the sadness. Total waste of time.
