This was some tale! It ruined my sleep and disrupted my daily routine. What an amazing narration! The wordplay was brilliant that I imagined myself walking in the streets of Barcelona a place I have never seen even in pictures.I can still see the Aldaya mansion and its dilapidated marble statues and even the angel's accusingly pointed hand.
The story begins when Daniel a ten year old motherless boy is taken to The Cemetery of forgotten Books a huge library of forgotten books by his father . { I w

The book started with an interesting premise 'The cemetery of forgotten books'. You find a book that immediately draws you into it. And you want to find out more about the author. You google right ? If Google doesnt have anything, you will call up the publisher and so on. I met this book the way I met the person who recommended it to me. With a strong disapproval, even with promising abilities. Throughout, the book and the boy returned parallel. Slowly I read, halfway there I was angry at this book, hated it for being so blunt and bare and brambly at the same time. Feared that it would take away something dear to me, a sense of peace, and a vacant place on a shelf of all things esteemed. The latter half, seemed gentle, substantial, durable and dear. For all the l ...more

Ever been obsessed about a Novel ? a writer? We have all been there , done that!

Is it not?

This is a gripping tale about a young man , an under rated writer , unadulterated friendships , Jealousy and on top of all this , Obsession! Spilling anything more than this would be a crime and I most certainly don't want to commit it. Read it. Find yourself in the lead character. get mesmerized and finally get back to reality.

What a brilliant novel! Take a bow Zafón!

P.S: Thank you Vidhya. This is the b
