A spectacular listen and now I need to go back and reads some of the King's that I've passed on. Great performance by Craig Wasson ...more

It's obvious that Stephen King is a prolific writer with "King"-like status amongst the royalty of authors. That said, I rarely have a middle ground reaction to any of his works. I either really love it, or I don't care for it at all. But this time I was left with a very mixed reaction when I was finished. I'd give this a solid 3+ stars, but not quite 4 stars for me.

The book is well-written, easy to read. I can't even imagine all the research that went in creating this story. And yet, I just cou

The beginning didn't grab me. The character development and caring about Jake and Sadie really drew me in. Again, King gives plenty of background and detail throughout, until the end. Obdurate and harmonize are repeated over 60 times - to let you know the past does repeat itself. But then the yellow card man gets a two paragraph summary. ugh. Are they defenders of the Beam? It seems so. The ending scene was well done and appreciated. 3.75 stars overall. ...more

So . . . there were times when I wanted this book to end. Reading the last 200 pages yesterday and today, though, I would say it's a pretty brilliant story.

Well, I read and read and read and I am finally done with this book. The story was definitely intriguing, but was too long. There were several dead spots throughout the book. But the time spent in Jodie, Tx was great! There were other parts that were interesting too. The end had a good pace to it and I enjoyed the end. All in all I am glad I read it. Just wish it was a little less wordy.
