"pathological lying (also called compulsive lying, pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying"
It's a train wreck, but in a good sort of way! Dysfunctional people, families, relationships, psychiatric problems, traumatic pasts, liars, cheaters, delusional personalities, addictions, abusive relationships and all on the same street just a distance from the daily commuter train track. I know I am in the minority with this review. 85%+ of this book was exquisitely written. If the last 15% hadn’t taken such a turn south, this would be the type of book that I would be recommending to strangers. It is like a different writer wrote the last portion of the book as it was cheesy and such a disappointment. So sad when it had so much potential.

Loved this book! So much has been written about this book that there's really nothing to add. What I liked: the structure, a page turner, good story, the writing, three different narrators, complex characters, the gradual way more info is revealed about each character. I hope Paula Hawkins writes more mysteries!

Too much hype, too little substance. The writing was ok, but the characters were all pathetic, except for 2...one who obviously did it and the one who didn't and was good/saintly. It picks up at the end, but by then I had solved the "mystery" and just wanted to see how it was resolved. Between 2 and 3 stars, 3 because it picked up at the end.

I completely enjoyed this whodunit even though I had put some of the pieces together pretty early on. The main character, Rachel, is frustrating and maddening and a complete mess, but I found myself rooting for her all the same.

Faced paced fun listen. I was not able to decide who had "done it" until the end of the book. Definitely worth a listen.
