"pathological lying (also called compulsive lying, pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying"

It's a train wreck, but in a good sort of way! Dysfunctional people, families, relationships, psychiatric problems, traumatic pasts, liars, cheaters, delusional personalities, addictions, abusive relationships and all on the same street just a distance from the daily commuter train track. Great maneuvering between characters weaving this murder mystery right to

I would rate this book 4.5 stars. Most of the book was the kind of thriller that I didn't want to put down so I finished it quickly and found it an engrossing read. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that there was some inconsistency in terms of the main character's (Rachel) relationship with her ex husband (Tom) and the ending of the book. Loved this book! So much has been written about this book that there's really nothing to add. What I liked: the structure, a page turner, good story, the writing, three different narrators, complex characters, the gradual way more info is revealed about each character. I hope Paula Hawkins writes more mysteries! ...more

I read this on vacation because I wanted something that would be engrossing for time on the plane but not too difficult to pick up and put down. This was perfect, lots of twists and just a fun read.

I completely enjoyed this whodunit even though I had put some of the pieces together pretty early on. The main character, Rachel, is frustrating and maddening and a complete mess, but I found myself rooting for her all the same.

Not my usual choice of genre. I find these psychological thrillers too stressful for me. With that stated, I thought the book was well written and I read it for book club.
Rachel rides the train every morning and fantasizes about the lives of the people she views from the window. Megan wishes her life was different. She struggles with being faithful. Anna doesn't care that she ruined a marriage because she has a great life now if only the ex wife would leave them alone. All three voices take the

Dammit, I figured it out halfway through. But it is a page turner. A good beach read.
