This book places the reader into the unusual life of August "Auggie" Pullman and allows them to experience what it feels like to look very different from everyone else. Told from several different points of view (some voices more authentic than others), you get the opportunity to experience Auggie's challenges from every angle. It's a great book for everyone but younger teenagers would really benefit from this thought provoking story. ...more

The general opinion of this book is that it is a heart wrenching coming-of-age story that is destined to become a classic. I kept waiting for those moments to manifest themselves. I kept waiting for the tears, for the rampant page turning to happen. It didn't.

This book is simply delightful. I loved the storyline and I listened to it on audible and I loved the performers in that as well. The movie is obviously a little bit different but I loved the movie as well! I think the thing I loved the most out of this book was how it touches your heart! Auggie is a fifth grader going to school for the first time (previously homeschooled), his face is not like other faces he has had a lot of surgeries to help him look like he is now, and this is the best he has ...more

A nice, quick read. I appreciated the different perspectives written from several characters' point of view.

"I wish every day could be Halloween. We could all wear masks all the time. Then we could walk around and get to know each other before we got to see what we looked like under the masks."

Wonder was a wonderfully fun and inspiring read. There's a lot that can be learned from Auggie's voice and perspective. It's always a good, and usually humbling idea, to walk a mile - or a novel - in someone else's shoes. Be kinder than is necessary. ...more
