I don't really have to read this book anymore. I've read it so often, it's part of me. I found this book in 6th grade when I was the miserable new kid at school. I wished I could run away to Pern, and impress my own fire lizard like Menolly. Just one, though, not nine. I'm not greedy.
I was overjoyed to discover there was a sequel, Dragonsinger, which is just as good.

Soft spot for this book, because it was my introduction to McCaffrey. I very quickly identified witn Menolly, too, even if we were of different gender.

I'd always hoped she and Jaxom would get together...heh. But Lady Anne was right in inventing Sharra for Lord J.

I really loved Menolly, so I loved this book too. I loved the little fire-lizards, too.
