At first I didn't think that I would like this book at all. The first two or three chapters dealt with a trial, and I mean THE trial. It was long and very boring. Once I got past that part, the book started to pick up. Harriet Vane is on trial for the murder of her ex boyfriend/fiancee. The Crown can't really pin the murder on her because all they have is that she was ironically writing a book where the character was poisoned to death. Really enjoyable mystery in the old-school Agatha Christie type. I did guess who did it but I didn't figure out all the facts so it wasn't easy. Wimsey is hysterical. Love some of the comments he makes. I liked that there was a biography of sorts in the back for Wimsey, it helped to piece together some of his life since this was the first book in this series that I have read.
