First off, if you haven't yet read BEING ME, then go ahead and put this back on the shelf. This is Mark's story after the events of BEING ME. As this is a novella, it is only a glimpse into what is in store for Mark.

This is a good introduction to Mark's story. I don't think this should be read unless you have read the other books but that's my opinion. Mark is an enigma is the prior stories and this story just begins to peel back his many layers. The readers finally meet Mark's mother and father. Mark feels out of control following the discovery that Rebecca was murdered. At the beginning of this story he learns that his mother has breast cancer and needs surgery. This was a small tease of Marc's story. I loved that his woman turns out to be exactly opposite of his previous lovers or subs. I am hoping that she stays that way and a I cannot wait to get his whole story. I wasn't expecting to like him after the way he was with Rebecca because I was convinced he was her Master. But I liked him in this short story and think that is more to him than he has shown us so far.

First of all, please note this novella contains spoilers for Being Me. I will do my best to not give spoilers for either one.

At the end of Being Me, we do find out what happened to Rebecca and who her "master" was. And in this well placed and written novella we get to see him from a different perspective than we have before. By this point we might think we have ideas into who he is and what type of character he is, but in this story we have to question what we think we know.

What a great addition to the Inside Out series. I have been fascinated by Mark since we first meet him so to get a real peek inside his head is just what I have wanted. He is a true Dom by nature but he has a wonderful heart. When he is needed by his family, he steps up. He is struggling to keep it all together when he meets a woman who gives him the distraction he needs.

The story is steamy but at a different level than the other novellas but it is well worth the read.

I really love the whole series and can't wait for the next.
This one was different and it was all in Marks POV.
I know he has been through !LOTS! and it did just all come out.
I think his "Dark Side" needs to take over the control, then he can heal and move on. ...more
