Ever since Rebecca disappeared, Mark Compton has had to contend with quite a few issues. His businesses have been turned topsy-turvy, as has his entire life. To make matters worse, he can no longer deny as to how it is that Crystal Smith makes him feel. She's beautiful, brazen, and stirs his senses in the sane ways Rebecca herself once did. Perhaps a tad more.
Mark keeps telling himself that Crystal is nothing more than a distraction. That he can stop thinking about her whenever he wants. Sadly, ...more

"Tie a rope around me, because I'm hanging by a thread from this cliffhanger!"
WOW...Mark's POV! This series drew me in from the beginning and the pull just keeps getting stronger & stronger! Ms. Jones continues to amaze me with her wit and her ability to weave a story into the readers mind like no other!
The control Mark loves so much to have but without it, he doesn't seem to know how to handle himself. However, Crystal seems to center him in a way that he can't or doesn't know how to accept. A ...more

Crystal and Mark
Mark is still feeling guilty over Rebecca’s death. He cannot understand why, if he was grieving for Rebecca, what the hell was he doing in bed with Crystal? It was spontaneous, out of control sex and he does not do that. He is a Master of control. What really bothered him the most, was her brush off note that stated “Goodbye, this never happened, it was just sex” No way, this was not just sex, HE LOST CONTROL! He has a big problem with his Master image, if he cannot keep control ...more

I continue to love the Inside Out Series. The novellas have just served to enhance my enjoyment by giving me what feels like behind the scenes commentary on my favorite characters and My Hunger is no exception.
With this Novella, we truly begin to see how vulnerable Mark is. He is hurting over the death of Rebecca, his mother's illness and we see how his once legendary control is falling apart, You can't help but sympathize with what all he is dealing with.

I have always thought that Mark was an automated robot. He was always so strict and in control. Then tragedy comes knocking.
He has lost the love of his life, Rebecca. He will help to get her killer convicted any way he can.
Then, his mother is diagnosed with breast cancer.
If anything else goes wrong, his control might be gone. As it is, he is trying to keep himself in control.
Crystal is not helping him with his control. She is making him face a lot of the problems. She is trying to help him with ...more

I love this series. This novella was wonderful. Mark is such a complex character and I love getting to know a little bit more about him. I love the chemistry between Mark and Crystal and I am anxious to see where it leads. There is still such mystery surrounding Mark and Rebecca. I can't wait for the final installment in this series to hopefully have all the questions answered. Great read! I highly recommend the Inside Out series.

Mark and Crystal have phenomenal chemistry, their sexual attraction positively sizzles off the pages. I love how Crystal isn't intimidated by Mark, even though he does his best to bully her in his pain.
Mark Compton has A LOT going on in his life, between the investigation of Rebecca's disappearance, his mother's illness, and the Ava debacle. Crystal is the perfect match for him, Mark is used to going for submissive women that allow him to walk all over them, Crystal is in no way submissive and ...more

love this series and this book was no exception. My only thing was that this story was way too short and ended abruptly. I know that there are more books coming soon so even though I wasn't happy with the to be continued ending I am looking forward to more stories about Marc.

My Hunger is in Mark’s POV and does the man have trouble in his life. I want to hug him because of everything he is dealing with in his life. Poor Mark! If you’ve read His Secrets, you’ll understand what is going on in My Hunger.
I give this short novella 4.5 moons, and anxiously wait to read No in Between (which is the next full-length book). ...more
