Lexi had some very steamy moments between the characters, but they were dialed down compared to Henry and Win in their book (which is the first book). David was what you would call someone who was resistant to having a happily ever after. Isla wants to love and have a family, and she finally believes she found it with David. Although, they have the crime that needs to be dealt with first. I figured out who was behind it all but was not expecting the big twist at the end of the book though. Lexi put me through the wringer in this book, especially after getting to know all the characters. I felt for everyone in this story.
I give this book 5 stars and highly recommend this to contemporary romance and romantic suspense readers out there. If you read any of Lexi’s previous books/series, you will enjoy this book and this series. I look forward to the next book even more after reading this one. The last book to the Fifth Avenue Trilogy and it definitely went out with a literal BANG. I was entranced with this story the minute I started reading it because I always love when an explosive revenge story comes to an epic ending. Kate Hewitt concluded this trilogy with an amazing ending to Austin, Hunter, and Alex’s revenge against Jason Treffen. Holy moly!!! That ending!!! I literally was smiling ear to ear after I finished reading this book.
If you haven’t read the first books in the trilogy…I highly recommend you do. You will need to read each book in order to get the full effect of what these 3 men had up their sleeve to bring down such an evil, shady man, such as Jason Treffen.

H.D. Smith is a new to me author, and I’m glad I was introduced to her latest release, Dark Hope through a blog tour. The synopsis alone caught my attention, and the fact it’s Urban Fantasy is why I wanted to read it.
This book is like no other story I’ve read before, and I love when authors can create something that takes me on a wild ride I’ve never been before. Here we have the main character, Claire who is the Devil’s assistant. She has his mark due to her taking her mother’s debt to the Demon King.

Last Second Chance is the first book I’ve read from Caisey Quinn and now I can’t wait to dive into the other books she’s written. I love finding new to me authors…or in this case, I have been meaning to read Caisey’s books for a while.
I dived into Last Second Chance and had a hard time putting it down. I love characters such as Stella Jo Chandler and Van Ransom. Characters that need each other in some kind of way, but in a different kind of way. Stella Jo has just graduated from Texas A&M and she has taken a job at a Second Chance rehab facility for celebrities. It’s a job that keeps her from going home to her parents and to her old life. Instead she ends up bumped into the famous rock star, Van Ransom who is there at the rehab facility to get help. If he doesn’t get help the album label will kick him out of his band and replace him.
The minute Stella and Van meet, it’s instant attraction. Van has never been with a woman like Stella, and Stella has never gave in such as indulges that Van offers. She knows she shouldn’t indulge with what Van wants to give her, but he’s kind of hard to say no to. She could lose her job and he could end up losing his career being kicked out of the facility. I don’t know how Stella handled it from the beginning with Van because he’s a very straightforward guy. He comes right out and states what he wants to do with her. Stella surprised me with how she handled Van at times, especially when they finally got together. Oh boy…how she even surprised Van.
There were times in the book I wanted to deck Van on how he handled his secrets. I knew he had something very dramatic happen to him and wanted to understand him better. He definitely had his reasoning on what led him to be a bad boy and in rehab. The big shocker was at the end of the book about Stella and how she grew up. I thought she didn’t really have any issues, but she had her own and they definitely were nothing what I expected.
Caisey Quinn kept me turning the pages in Last Second Chance because I needed to know if both characters were finally going to get a happily ever after. They both deserved it. Van changed so much in this book, even if he didn’t want to admit at the end. Stella changed to, but in a whole different way. She is the freaky character in the book. I adored everything about her.
I give this book 4.5 moons and recommend it contemporary romance readers out there. I look forward to the next book in this series, especially after reading the blurb of it at the end of this book.

(Believe me, you will want to know about Nick) =) Laura Kaye picks up the dilemma of the first book in Hard as You Can, but with different characters playing the principal part in the book. This is the first book I’ve read that is a retelling of Peter Pan, which happens to be one of my favorite classReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
This is the first book I’ve read that is a retelling of Peter Pan, which happens to be one of my favorite classic children’s tale that I constantly read as a child.
Girl Lost is nothing like the original Peter Pan though, Nazarea Andrews gives us a edgy twist to the tale. Instead of having a sweet Wendy girl in the story, we have Gwen who is suffering with hallucinations (at least that is what her family calls her condition) and dealing with trying to forget what happened to her mother and father. She’s supposed to be starting her life over, but she still has brother Micah watching over her at school, her psychiatrist Grayson calling to check up on her, and her Aunt J trying to control her life. Gwen though is trying to forget the boy that made her family put her into a mental institution. They don’t believe he ever existed, and that Gwen made him up to help her cope with witnessing her parents being murdered so many years ago on the boat she was on with them. When Gwen goes to college though, she ends up seeing the exact boy she’s supposed to not see. Is he real or she is hallucinating like her family says? But then her family and friends say they can see him too, but her family still considers her crazy until memories start popping back up on what happened those years ago she lost.
Some things I enjoyed about Girl Lost is how Nazarea Andrews has the characters from Peter Pan in the story, but she gives them other names. We have the Lost Boys that follow Peter around, but they are considered a fraternity instead. There’s also Tinkerbell, but in the story she’s called something else as well. There’s Hook to in the story, but it’s only a sly remark from Gwen that he’s figured out in the story. (He was a very interesting character in the story, although he drove me crazy with his tactics with women. Let’s just say he loved women.) I loved the twists and turns that Nazarea put in the book with the characters on retelling the story in a different way and giving it a new adult feel to it. When reading it though at first, it will feel like a YA/teen book until half-way through the book it starts leading into a more mature route. It does get pretty steamy in certain scenes in the book, which is why this book is intended for 17+ audience.
Some things that made me give it 3.5 moons instead of higher is how the story ended and how Gwen drove me crazy while reading the story. The ending just ended and there was too many questions left unanswered for me. What happens to Gwen after figuring out the truth? What happens Peter? I was in shock after reading the last sentence and clicking in my kindle realizing that was it. I definitely felt lost just like Gwen did on what happened. Gwen’s ways of coping with some of the issues she dealt with in the story. I’m sorry, but the way Peter treated her, I would’ve ignored him and dumped him in a heartbeat. She deserved the truth and she deserved better. She did have one hookup with some other person in the book and I actually was rooting for him to win her over.
Overall this was an entertaining retelling of Peter Pan that kept me guessing on what really was going on. I recommend it to readers that enjoy retellings of our favorite classic tale, Peter Pan. You may be in shock after ending though…I’m still in shock. Guess Nazarea just wanted to let us guess on what happened afterwards. Here’s hoping Gwen got her HEA and ended up shoving it in her family’s face on the truth of what happened to her.

I enjoyed what Jeffe Kennedy did in this story. She had Althea open up as a person and realize that life did not have to be so strict. Steel was kind of forceful though, but he did respect Althea when it came to what he was doing to her. The only thing I did not like it that it was short and I wanted more of the characters. There were times that Althea was a jerk to Steel, but I think she had her reasons because she was not used to having a guy being so upfront with her and she was not used to talking to a guy like Steel before. Will, I read another book in the Facets of Passion series if Jeffe Kennedy writes one...MOST definitely. I did enjoy reading "The Rebel Princess." It was different than any other romance story out there. Anne M. Strick puts the readers on the set of a movie and what could happen when making the film. A lot was going on in this book. There were times; I had to re-read some parts because I was lost on what just happened because it flowed into something else when I was trying to understand another part of the story. Other than that, it was fascinating to learn the movie industry a bit and what goes on. I am glad I never wanted to work in the movie industry. Too much stuff happens that of course, they have to keep hidden from the public eye. I felt terrible for Davena and how she was trying everything to change. The ending was the best part of the story because she finally gave in to her instincts and found out who she truly loved in the end. I noticed she learned a lot while making the movie that helped her grow as a character. The one character that irritated me was Davena's father. Her father, Rafe, was a jerk to her at first, until he realized what he needed to do to save her and the rest of the family of a particular dilemma. I recommend this book to readers who love romance and also want to find out what happens behind the scenes of a movie.
