This book is show is set in a futuristic, dystopian Chicago after a seemingly never-ending war, society is divided into 5 factions. They each represent a different quality. Selflessness (Abnegation). Honesty (Candor). Braveness (Dauntless.) Peacefulness (Amity.) And lastly; intelligence. Erudite.

Amazing. I loved this book sooo much. I couldn't get over it for, like, three weeks, and I was just dying... Loved this. The rest of the series was ok, but Divergent...!!
It was a little bit unrealistic, but that didn't affect my experience with it at all. I mean, the factions seemed a little extreme, and over the top with their beliefs. I just kind of loved it more for that, though. This book was AMAMZING. ...more

Wow. Oh wow. This book was really well written and well, one of my favorites. I read this a while ago, that is why I'm not fangirling like crazy. The whole world building was amazing, and Veronica Roth created a world we can actually connect to. Not just imagine. Which is amazing. The quotes and writing in this book is simply amazing. So many life lessons! And it teaches how to be brave and that being brave or selfless or clever is not the best thing in the world. I love this, I reread it about

My friends had recommended this book to me and I got to say, I really liked it. A lot of people say it has a plot similar to The Hunger Games. I agree with them because it does. The main character has to make a choose that will change her life and she has to leave her family behind. She goes to this new place that she has to train to survive and makes friends and enemies that try to hurt/kill her. She also falls in love with a person she can connect to.
