I love this novel. I've read it several times, and every time I've sympathized with a different character, or learned something new about myself. The first time, I was the second Mrs. DeWinter - young, naive, so desperate for something new you're willing to be a real dumbdumb. The oppressive atmosphere and her fear of not doing things right leads her to all kind of stupid mistakes, which, same.
