This could have been a really wonderful collection of weird and oddly wonderful short stories. Instead, as a novel it's a sort of confusing, jumbled mix of delightful moments, weird dream-like snippets, and baffling plot turns that just don't tie together very well.

I've fallen hard for Helen Oyeyemi, she's climbing my all time favorite authors list faster and faster. This is a book I already know I'm going to read 3-4 more times to fully absorb. Its like one of those time-travel movies you have to rewatch and discuss endlessly.
