Oh, I identified with Laura Willows and her "autumn fever!" Laura (Lolly to her blandly controlling family) Willowes is happy enough as a child in Victorian England, trouncing through the countryside, picking herbs to make medicines, using her still and her brewing skills, reading and taking care of her father. She never feels a need to marry, and when her father dies she's given over to her elder brother's London family, without a thought as to what she might want. Nor does she complain--the co ...more
