Nothing happened, then everything happened! I couldn't buy that the two main characters were in love at all and would go through all this for each other. I just ended up angry at new Mrs de Winter for marrying the first guy she ever met, which was probably not the goal of Ms. du Maurier. Beautiful prose though. ...more
