Still adore this book. The audiobook is fantastic. I can't think of a better narrator than Lin-Manuel Miranda. Beautiful.

This one pulled me in and I forgot that it was set in the late 1980’s until the letter writing started. As other reviewers have noted, the parents in this novel were unusually progressive for that era. But I’m down with a universe in which letter writing is still a thing and parents accept their children for who they are.
