I read this book because it is beloved in certain circles that I travel in. I wish I could say I loved it.
I had a hard time getting into it, and at several points considered giving up and finding a Cliff Notes version so that I could simply find out whodunit without having to slog through the remaining chapters. A cozy mystery that manages to be far ahead of its time. Harriet Vane, weighing her own independence as an author and educated woman against the identity she'd have if she accepts one of Lord Peter Wimsy's marriage proposals, retreats to her alma mater and becomes embroiled in a very mild mystery. Much philosophizing ensues. Poorly narrated in the audiobook format (difficult to tell characters apart), but comfortable nonetheless.
