If you're reading reviews instead of reading the Cruel Prince, what are you doing?! What are you honestly thinking?! READ IT!!! It's so splendid that I wish I myself hadn't delayed reading it for so long.

I just recently got out of a reading slump (with books that were admittedly horrible for trying to hop out of that sort of hole), but The Cruel Prince really ensured that I'd stay hooked.

This will always be one of my favorite books. It pulled me out of a long reading slump of starting series and not finishing them. THIS ENCOURAGED ME TO READ MORE AND IM SO GLAD IT DID. I LOVE JUDE! im thankful to those who recommended this book to me (even if they hadn't read it themselves at the time) This book is beautifully written and pulls you into the world of fae (and cardan). I went into this book thinking it was more centered around romance but that’s not anyone’s fault. I just saw a ton on social media. This book has a ton of political parts and so don’t go into this expect a big plot of romance.

I definitely hated Cardan in the beginning and I knew that he’d get better based on everything I saw so I just waited and IT GOT BETTER!! TRUSTTTTT

I love Jude though and she is definitely one of my favorite FMC I’ve read in a while. Jude had to suffer through so much. ...more

Now this is how you write a fantasy novel. I was absolutely captivated from start to finish. Holly Black has crafted a dark, enchanting world that is both vividly atmospheric and dangerously seductive. The political intrigue, the razor-sharp dialogue, and the tension running through every chapter kept me completely hooked.
