ive finally reached the end.
now before you come at me, considering reading all the five star reviews, I am rating this 3.5⭐️

where to start… well first off this seemed like a cute enemies to lovers romantasy! as i expected i went into it with high expectations because of ALLLL the hype. well, overhyping it ruined the experience for me because i was expecting something so beautiful written. there were so many names to remember and so many people related to who the fuck knows? who is who?? i was so ive finally reached the end.
now before you come at me, considering reading all the five star reviews, I am rating this 3.5⭐️

where to start… well first off this seemed like a cute enemies to lovers romantasy! as i expected i went into it with high expectations because of ALLLL the hype. well, overhyping it ruined the experience for me because i was expecting something so beautiful written. there were so many names to remember and so many people related to who the fuck knows? who is who?? i was so confused. I didn’t really get the plot as I really think it was more of a journey. towards the end it DID get better.

locke was another Adam from shatter me. there ALWAYS has to be 2 love interests, with the first being a complete stuck up character. speaking of shatter me, jude was giving juliette but whiny and cardan being aaron with less brains… it was just so, how can I put it, disappointing. and the kiss? oh, it was just a little hate kiss, I fear the kiss was only put in for ‘tension’. and it feels like holly black has just pulled up some corny scenes to write in, because Jude was crawling on the ground with almost nothing on in front of her whole class? wtf is that i was dying of laughter 😭 it DOESNT even make sense

people waiting for what I liked about this story
okay, so the beginning of this book intrigued me because yk it caught my attention! i think cardan is charming and Jude a prominent character, but something about them pissed me off. the imagery and like SPECIFIC scenes i loved, like i really liked. i was kicking my feet at some moments like the cute moments and the wholesome scenes. also madoc is SUCH a girl dad. 💖 the sisters are such an iconic trio and uncovering secrets was such a fun part because wdym everyone has a super deep dark secret?

the writing… oh. i could NOT understand half these words because they are not apart of my vocabulary yet (im just a girl cmon). like this is YA? no, you gotta be at least 30 to understand it.

im sorry that there is so much bits i didnt like and not a lot of writing on stuff I did like, but i did still enjoy this to an extent 😗

anyways, thank you for reading and im so sorry if you loved this book but i just didn’t enjoy it!!

- This was a nice change of scenery since I mostly read human romances. And also, I wanted to try reading a fantasy.

If you're reading reviews instead of reading the Cruel Prince, what are you doing?! What are you honestly thinking?! READ IT!!! It's so splendid that I wish I myself hadn't delayed reading it for so long.

I just recently got out of a reading slump (with books that were admittedly horrible for trying to hop out of that sort of hole), but The Cruel Prince really ensured that I'd stay hooked.
