Honestly, I wasn't the biggest fan of Happy Place, so it took me a while to read this one because I thought it would be similar, but I regret every second that I wasn't reading it tbh. I don't think I've torn through an Emily Henry book this fast since Book Lovers. The plot was so original, and legitemently funny. It's nothing personal...

There was no tension, no romance, nothing. And Daphne made age-old mistakes that only caused me to roll my eyes and yell at her.

Miles is an inconsistent and unreliable character. He would give Daphne false hope only to take it away from her two seconds later and hurt her.

Also not everyone has parent issues
Or abs

I want to see more complex characters, and varied because the books are like competing soda brands; some of them are more popular, but they all taste the same

It's like a bag being labeled as mixed nuts but really only has one kind

She's a fantastic writer, but her characters are similar in actions, and appearance

I just want differentials

Funny story……….. I still haven’t recovered from reading this book, the tension could be felt from MILES away. And Daphne being a children’s librarian was the cherry on top, it was just so fricking adorable!!
