Infected is the first major release by the king of podcast fiction, Scott Sigler. It is a wild ride, even though much of the novel takes place in the apartment of one Perry Dawsey, former star linebacker going through the fight of his life.

And this is what makes Infected my favorite Sigler offering: like a great Hitchcock film (albeit with gore never imagined by the great director), Infected drips with suspense. The confining nature of the setting, the battle Perry wages against himself (taking

Infected is the story of Perry Dawsy, a former college football star who's left working in tech support after a knee injury leaves him unable to play. Perry's the kind of guy who's got a lot of anger stored up inside him, and when he gets infected with a new disease that threatens to drive him insane and take control of his body, that anger threatens to come out. At the same time, a group of scientists and special agents are trying to find out the links between several mass killings throughout t ...more

Scott Sigler is one twiseted individual! Really...his novel Infected stands as a testament to good horror/thriller stories. His imagry alone made me cringe every time he described one of Perry's "operations" gave me the creeps. Seeing how good Infectedwas, Contagious is going to be AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!

At least I now know what Save Perry's Balls means...:D

While listening to this podcast, I was also listening to another of his podcast, Nocturnal. I found Nocturnal more interesting than this novel. However, this is definitely worth checking out.

This book was amazing. Scott Sigler is a truly twisted individual and I think this may be one of the most graphic/gore filled novels that I have ever read. Very cool story though and rather eerie how parts of it can relate to real life.

Knock your socks off, kicks you in the gut (or lower), and just plain scares you. Sigler doesn't screw around with flowery language, he hits you where you live. If you like science and medical horror, this is a "must read" ...more

Definitely exemplary of Sigler's brand of techno-horror. Not for the squeamish, to be sure, but still an interesting read that draws you in as things develop. And there is classic Sigler-style dark humor as well. ...more
