This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I had been steering clear of KA's novels since Knight as based on that I actually thought her books are more erotica and I'm not usually in the mood for that.

Mystery Man's storyline is intriguing though, so I went ahead and decided to give it a go and boy, did I have a roller-coaster ride with all the break-in, drive by, flamethrowers and kidnapping. There are always something that's gonna blow up in every corner and this in itself, though unbelievable, is quite a fun read.

I do adore Gwen, she's smartass funny and absolutely adorable with her shoe and cookie dough cravings. She's also warm, generous and has a explosive temper when riled, blurting out the most funny things while doing it. She's not perfect by a long shot, but she's human, makes stupid decisions and is honest with herself enough to own up her mistakes.

There are a few of her actions that I find weird and make her seem flighty and skanky, like why would she be sleeping in a bed with another man or kissing others right after she broke up with someone? She also seems to be attracted to all the guys in this series and vice versa, which I also feel a bit weird. I guess though since she's not really settled with Hawk yet, it's human nature to shop around and we all do that (though not a lot of romance novel will write about that...)right and what's up with Gwen being a man magnet anyways?

Hawk is amazing when he decides to exert the effort to do so. Though he can be quite an ass at times, he's very sweet and romantic most other times. I do like alpha males that barges in, thumping chest and roaring me tarzan you jane, so he definitely fits the bill. I also love how sweet they whisper to each other in a lot of the scenes (I swear I'm gonna get a whisper fetish soon between him and Lucas...) the love scenes are really very well done in that you know already how deep he is in with his snuggling and cuddling alone *sigh* ultra sweet

I'm probably not used to KA's writing style, so I did have difficulty with some parts of the dialogue trying to figure out what Hawk meant and having to go back and read it a couple times.

I totally feel for Gwen when the few bombs dropped on her regarding Hawk. I was so pissed at him in some scenes that I was ranting at my reader right before I read Gwen's retorts, and I think I'm probably not a better woman than her as I am still miffed he got off the hook so easily (though on reflection what he says makes sense and I guess I'm biased as I've been reading from Gwen's point of view all along). There are a lot of emotions rolling through as I read it and I totally absolutely LOVE the epilogue (it's been a while since I've read one where the author actually tells us how the protagonists are doing a few years down the road) and we get a little glimpse of what Hawk thinks.

This was book 1 in "The Dream Man Series" . This was a really good read that I have had on my tbr list for a longtime. Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams.
