I really enjoyed this story. I loved Josh and Gabe. Yes Josh was mean a lot of the time but he went through a lot and it was understandable as he wanted to keep his heart walled off. I can’t wait to watch them grow as a couple.
I so loved the fact that this came out on audio - Joel Leslie was perfect! Sometimes audio books are even better than reading them as you don't always get the right inflections. ...more

I found me a new author. Oh how I love days like this. Gabe is a police officer who was called to a fight at Jazz's hair salon. The next day poor Jazz is moved up to murder suspect. I loved him he is my favorite type of character snarky and funny. The mystery was okay. I never suspected the culprit at all. It had some parts that were unbelievable.

Despite others reviews I really enjoyed this down to earth normal growing pains a new couple will have.
Josh is the somewhat feminine owner of an upscale salon catering to his small town, where he knows everyone and gets to hear all the gossip.
Gabe is a detective who consistently makes an ass out of himself until he realizes Josh is who he really wants.
I love how the small town dynamics play a key role in the murder. I can totally see this happening where I live.
The talking bird cracks me up. ...more
