Wild Highway is the second book in the Runaway Series and it follows the story of Gemma and Easton. From the moment you meet these two characters, you will be utterly consumed by them. Wild Highway is the second book in the Runaway Series and it follows the story of Gemma and Easton. From the moment you meet these two characters, you will be utterly consumed by them. I mean, you might as well cancel all of your plans for the day, because you’re going to want to just devour their story.

Gemma’s life has never been easy. Her home life was toxic and it forced her to leave home at a young age. Ever since she left home, she’s fought and worked hard for everything in her life. She’s tried to make something of herself and tried to find her place in the world. But, no matter what Gemma does, she always feels like she’s spinning her wheels. She’s never truly found her place, so when the opportunity to take a road trip to California presents itself, Gemma can’t turn it down. What started off as a road trip to clear her mind, ends up with a detour that turns her life completely upside down……

Wild Highway is literally everything that I could want and need in a second chance romance. The characters are real, flawed and filled to the brim with emotion. They are easy to relate to and the more you spend time with them, the more you want to see their story come together. Gemma & Easton had me hooked from the very first page. The chemistry between them was scorching and impossible to miss. They had the enemies to lovers vibe going and when you add their past to it, it only made things more intense. Gemma was strong and fierce. She had been through so much and just wanted to find her place in the world. And while Easton appears to be this gruff, broody man, there is more to him than meets the eyes. He’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders. He’s got major feelings for Gemma, but is afraid of letting her get close again. I loved watching these two try to figure things out and see if they could find their way back to one another again.

Wild Highway consumed me. It filled me with so many emotions and I couldn’t help but devour this book. Gemma and Easton were a force to be reckoned with. Their story proved to be everything that I wanted and wished for. It’s the kind of story that knocks you off of your feet and will keep you begging for more. It’s a story filled with love, angst and heartache. It’s a story of forgiveness and hope. It’s a story that will leave you with so many feels and the biggest smile on your face.

Wild Highway was a fantastic read from beginning to end and I just loved every single second of it. I am completely in love with the Runaway Series and can not wait to see what journey this author will take my heart on next!

Never mind the fact that this pit stop landed Gemma back into a place that played an important part in her past. Montana still held all of the glory that it promised all those years ago in Gemma’s youth.

As that restored Cadillac found its way to the ranch that Gemma walked into all those years ago, a flood of emotion found its way into Gemma’s heart. The rise to the top wasn’t easy. Gemma Lee created a multi-million-dollar cosmetic empire, invested in the growth of other businesses, and still couldn’t find the happiness that her soul sought. Now that Gemma has walked away from it all, she is searching for that one thing that makes her heart complete. Easton knows that Gemma is back in town and he is determined to push her to the brink with his taunting. All those years may have given these two a reprieve, but Easton reminds Gemma she is a ‘runner’ at every turn. Will the past find itself on repeat once again? With the open highway calling, Gemma will have to turn in the right direction to find the happiness she so desperately desires.

Wild Highway is the latest release by Devney Perry in the Runaway Series. While it is not required to understand this story, I highly recommend reading Londyn’s story prior to starting this novel. Gemma’s story has been my favorite by far. I love the brazenness to her personality and the fight within her heart to heal all those fractures. Life on the ranch holds more than horse stalls, spa days and a hard day’s work. That blue Montana sky holds the promise of a future that is deeper than the open road.

Devney Perry is a master with her words and a healer of broken hearts. She writes small town romances with the absolute best of them and she has nailed delivering an unforgettable second chance love story in the very BEST ways.
