A whopper ending to a fantastic series that was fresh and new with each and every installment. From Theo and Laney's friends-to-lovers trope, to the second chancers, Troy and Clarissa, and finally Lance and Harper in their heartbreaking and angst-filled forbidden romance, Kate Stewart delivered everything a romance reader could desire and expect.

I’m going to be honest I read most of this book thinking it would be a solid 4 Star read, I didn’t think I liked it as much as the previous two books in the series, it’s so different from the others, but by the end I had tears on my cheeks, and all the frustration I felt for these characters just melted away and I realized this book is just as great as the others if not better. ⁣

The Guy in the Middle is Lance’s story. We met Lance in Kate’s ‘The Guy on the Right’ book. Lance is Theo’s quiet roommate and Troy’s teammate. I was very interested in hearing his story and I wasn’t at all disappointed. Lance is a star player on the collage football team. His family needs him to get drafted so he keeps his head down and stays focused. He goes to a friends gym to box when he needs to blow off some steam. While boxing he meets Harper.
