Loved it the first time, I enjoyed it even more the 2nd!

Re-read Feb 2019 and I'm upping my rating because I enjoyed this even more the second time around.

I had no idea what to expect when I started this, I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised. There was a fair bit of world building which I found fascinating, there wasn't much on the romance side, and this wasn't a problem (super unusual for me because I'm ALWAYS all about the romance) and yet I really did enjoy this first in the series.

I sniggered, snorted and crackled like a loon at Dex's ant

This was a very long read for me. I had a very hard time keeping interested, even sat it down and read two other books before finishing. It took forever to get there but the very end of the book was the best part. It does end with a very gentle cliffhanger. Although there is also a happy ending despite the events that brought them together.

I really enjoyed this, loved the two main characters, particularly Dex.
And now I've gone and 1-clicked the rest of the series, hoping for a bit more romance, than was in this first book.

Excellent world building and engaging secondary characters, and the desire to see if the two MC's progress their relationship.

In other words....Completely sucked in !

3.5 stars. My favorite thing about this book was the dialogue. The author has a knack for witty banter. Sloane and Dex were a fun (and hot) couple. Every time the spotlight was taken off the MCs though, my mind wandered.

The romance was secondary to the action scenes and the world building. By the 75 percent mark, I had to resign myself to a HFN, though that was also the point that Sloane and Dex finally got to spend some uninterrupted, romantic time together. More of that, please.

I found aspects

amazing beginning!

This series is one I’ll definitely be reading over and over again. Set in modern day New York, humans and shifters live among each other, but like any city, the thirds agents have their hands full of fighting crimes committed by both. The writing is impeccable. Must read
