4 1/2 "Douglas and Julia" Stars!!

Love, love, love! I mostly just listened to it this time around. The narrator was very good.

Really love this one, it's got a good story, great supporting cast, 2 main leads that are really lovable and a little suspense thrown in. Only thing I didn't like is really the ending. I don't know why, I like authors to leave a little bit room at the end for us and the listing of what will happen in a few sentences of all the really major characters in the book is just not something I really want to read about, and I will feel quite bummed after such an epilogue :T

On the whole I love love love H running after the h throughout the book, and this here is what happened, even though H didn't really get why he locked down on our h at the beginning. Our H is one determined man, and while at the beginning he's v closed off, you can still see from this thoughts he isn't naturally mean or unfeeling, he's just not showing what he feels for some reason. He thaws gradually and it's wonderful to see this man's capacity for love once he opens up. It really is cute how he just did everything he can think of to try to get h and love his interactions with the kids as well, for while he's never had any experience, I think he did a great job with them just because he cares.

Our h is also superb, she's the tender hearted one still suffering from her loss but she's determined to do right by our lil ones and she in fact was a great parent figure, always being there for the kids, keeping up the tradition and making sure the kids will remember the happy times with their parents. Also love her easy going and kind heart with the staff and her slow capitulation to the H. While she isn't a hard hearted person, we do understand why she isn't buying into his idea and it's great seeing H working hard for it.

Story itself is pretty much focused on the family side of things, which is heart warming. Love the kids, everyone has a v distinct character and had reacted differently to the situation, but they also are easy to love. Suspense isn't much in this one, but I still love how it pended out and it's pretty exciting towards the end with all the mayhem.
