Difficult read and one that made me a bit uneasy. Don’t look for a happy ending. Gripping from the beginning and will keep you guessing. Definitely thought-provoking and unpredictable.

A bit of a Debbie-downer -- but well-written with an intriguing storyline that kept me involved.

Wow. Did. Not. See. That. Ending coming. I listened to the audiobook but thankfully I wasn't at the gym when I hit the climax. The tears while I was on the treadmill would have been embarrassing to say the least.
Great story. I wasn't so fond of the protagonist at first, but I'm so glad I didn't quit listening to the story. She grew on me, especially when you realize why she was the way she was. ...more

I definitely agree that The Ghostwriter is not a romance and it doesn’t have a happily ever after. It’s a story of suspense that starts out very slow allowing you to get to know and dislike Helena. At least dislike is where I started with her since she’s very cold and harsh to anyone around her and lives by and imposes a crazy set of rules. She comes across as much older than her years even in the flashbacks. She’s a woman completely consumed by her writing and is happy when everyone leaves her
