What Members Thought

This is the most difficult Kristen Ashley book to read IMO and the most difficult to rate.
There is no warning about the rape/forced seduction that begins the relationship between Lahn and Circe, and I wasn't prepared for the scene. Even though it wasn't graphic it was still something that it difficult to deal with in a romance. The setting was so primitive, so drastically different from my own, and that could condone and expect such treatment towards women.

Sigh.......Dax Lahn. I don't have anything else to say.
I always forget how much I love this book. Sometimes, I just read from the Home chapter. Something about a primitive savage king just really works for me. ...more

I enjoyed this a lot, the whole thing was crazy and even tho I didn't read the first one I think it made this better because then the twist was that much better

I'm on the fence with this one. I loved it and hated it all at the same time. First of all, I thought the incorporation of the Korwahk language was genius. I found myself quite frustrated with the whole language barrier, which made me feel more connected to the heroine, Circe. Through my own curiosity, I frequently used the 'Korwakh' dictionary at the end of the book to decipher some words because I was too impatient to wait for the story to reveal its meaning.

This was a good read no doubt but struggled with what rating to give. Where do I even start?

I started reading this knowing I would absolutely HATE the forced seduction scenes etc but the storyline in general was intriguing so I thought I'd just power through it.
But she handled that whole thing a lot better than I expected, I was so close to a DNF cos this is one of my pet peeves . I hated how quickly Circe got over the whole multiple rape thing. It was just so quick, TOO ...more

HOLY CRAP!! As much as I love ALL of Kristens books I really loved this book the best! The character of Dax Lahn is goddamn cool. This book still had the alpha males I love in her books but brought me back to the genre that holds my heart that I have been missing for a while fantasy. Thank you Kristen!!

I. Freaking. Loved. Golden Dynasty!
This book was plain awesome! I really liked it despite the negative issues that were tackled here like rape, brutality, etc. It was primitive and yes, they haven't heard of women's lib yet.
Lahn was pretty awesome. He's barbaric and very raw. And he was also super sweet. The way he was with Circe when she got sick and how he said that he couldn't have dreamt of a better wife and that they would have daughters too so he can find them kings who wish to hand them k ...more
