The h here is actually a good balance of soft sweetness and tough badarseness. There are not a lot of instances that she got on my nerves with her being too sweet and capitulating, she is all gentle usually but she did give as good as she gets when she is pissed or wronged. Most times she is a little crazily daring, fun loving and game to live her life to the fullest. She also made sense to me, when she explains how her at Style slighty different than her contemporary, though still very engaging.

She also made sense to me, when she explains how her attitude came about and how she dealt with our H, including letting things be when they are living in the moment and happy as can be.

H I have a harder time to warm up to. His beginning act is a bit too mean and his attitude just plain bad, though I do sympathise with his plight. Once he figured out the h though, he really is trying to be a real sweetheart. Have to say though I wanted to smack him for the maid incident and I think h is definitely more forgiving. I know this is in the past and all but seriously it really is embarassing to rub this in her face and I think just to prove he's the man or something. Same goes for his highhandedness later on and I think if events didn't happen thus, h will definitely stew longer.

I definitely like all the other secondary characters here. I am so happy and yet sad to see this is pretty real life in that all's well doesn't necessary end well. I love how much the h has to give and tries to build relationships with others. This also makes me smile and cheer when she succeeds.

The parallel universe is not a new concept but very well done here. I love seeing how h dealt with the new world that seems to be more geared towards natural and mystical stuffs. I am not sure but I think I have read some book with similar theme before. It really is enchanting discovering this with her. I also was so into the plot and puzzled as all out towards the ending of the book, when things moved fast and gets so very hair raising and exciting.

All in all quite a different feel to this but still very enjoyable. I might have crossed eyes a few times when there are just way too many detailed descriptions, but I still enjoy it quite a bit.

The timeline is a bit weird though, we are often moved forward weeks and even months at a time to a totally different situation, especially towards the end. While I understand there are lots of loose ends, I find my concentration a bit disturbed and he focus is then less on the hea than getting loose ends tied up. ...more
