Loved this book.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It wasn’t a typical KA book.

I’ll admit that I was a little hesitant to read it because it’s classified as a Fantasy romance. But I was really surprised that it was more of a mix of contemporary, historical (like) with some paranormal aspects. Now, I don’t claim to know the official definitely of “Fantasy” novels, but I wasn’t expecting what I got.

Most definitely my favourite Kristen Ashley book so far! I loved being carried away into this fantasyland. I think I loved it so much because it reminded me of the many Scottish Highlander books that I also love. A truly enjoyable escape!

This was a fun, adventurous and romantic story. It's filled with palaces, balls, adventures, sea voyages, assassination attempts, betrayals, political plots, battles, kidnappings, executions, elves and dragons. what more could you want!

Storyline was good
Most of the characters were ok
BUT... the lead heroine was o_O
Finne character was between the ages of 28-30 but you couldn't tell by the way she talked and handled situations she was placed in. Ahh I got so annoyed with the number of times she says "cool" & "awesome". She goes from a girl/woman who can't stand having a dead animal or person in front of her to a very skilled ruthless killer o_O
I don't know but something about Finne didn't sit right with me, sorry! ...more
