description

Rodel “Ro” Emerson is a teacher in England. While she is content with her life, she’s always lived vicariously through her uninhibited and spontaneous sister. However, when Ro receives news of her sister's death in Tanzania, she is confronted with regret and grief. Off to put her sister to rest, Ro journeys to Africa in hopes of finding solace but finds much more than she had ever imagined.

“The most profound, most memorable moments of life are the ones that make you feel. And that’s

Story 5+++++
Audiobook 5+++++

I have no idea why I haven’t read this book before, but I could kick myself. It is going to be hard to top this book on my favorite list. Not only is the story phenomenal, the audiobook is just as amazing.

The story is about two people each struggling with a loss, and when Rodel and Jack first meet, things don’t go so well. It’s not until they both start fighting for what they want, they finally realize how much they are alike and trying to honor their loved ones. They

This book is something special. It touches your soul on a different level, and while it is heartbreaking it is also heartwarming. The story is engrossing and paints a beautiful picture while showing a grotesque reality, it is a contradiction on every level. I feel like the decision to read this book ended up being a gift to myself, one I'm greatful for. The epilogue was...just, well I really don't have words, but the invisible strings of life connecting us all, that is the epicenter of th

Can I give it more than 5 stars? This is one of those books that resonates through my mind, heart, and soul and will for a long, long time. Wiping tears, but smiling at the same time. A most definite Must Read! All time favorites. I'll return with a full review but meantime, this quote from the book says it all for me:
“Sometimes you come across a rainbow story—one that spans your heart. You might not be able to grasp it or hold on to it, but you can never be sorry for the color and magic it brou

Have you ever finished reading a book and just stared at your kindle or book in complete awe of the story you just finished reading? You ponder the story in how amazing it is, how something so ugly can turn so beautiful? You sit and thank the heavens that an author like Leylah Attar wrote this book! This is the first book of 2017 that I’m adding to my BEST OF 2017 list and it’s so deserving. This book… just no words. It’s everything. It’s why you read. It’s why we do what we do. It’s book like t ...more

You ever wonder what we’d find if we could pick up the threads back to the point where things unravel, where paths cross, and lives pivot, and people come together?
