This was a "quiet" book. As I mulled over what I would write for this review, I realised the differences in Ashley's books. The impact of the book varies directly with the personality of the hero. No other author I have read has been able to accomplish this feat.
Raid, was definately an alpha but not a leader. He runs his own life exactly the way he wants, but isn't afraid to allow changes in the plans. The book did not directly involve his work. The focus was on his home life. This provided a m ...more

I think this book would have been 5 stars if it was longer. Even if it was just rambling. I did not want it to end. Hanna is probably my favorite heroine so far. When faced with issues she addressed them and did not let them get bigger in her head. Raid was...... Perfect. Nope take that back almost perfect. Him hooking up with Meg (and friend) not cool. He has better taste then that and the way he is with Hanna thinking that she is his reward. He knows better and knows he deserved better then Me

So Kristen Ashley is an auto-buy for me, but I'm hoping that she switches things up soon - all the books have that samey-same quality and I think there needs to be some growth within her particular formula, some change. I gave this book an additional star for Spot the cat and Hanna's grandmother, Miss Mildred, who had the most personality of any of the characters, including the leads.
I love her Rock Chick so much and I think that while she has a formula, when she does it well, it's great. That b ...more

I was disappointed.. Ok I think I've officially used up my quota of Kristen Ashley novels for a while. I thought that after the last one I read but I got suckered in to this one by the book cover. Yes yes, I know. rookie error BUT It's the best Kristen Ashley one for sure. I just wanted to see it as part of my collection!!

I'm just going to say it ... Raid was wayyy off mark for me.
Phew, now that it's off my chest let me explain. I liked Hanna, Raid and of course Grams. It's hard me to put my finger on why this didn't for me. Was it because it was shorter and I just couldn't really connect with my KA characters as much as I usually do? Maybe. Was it because it's the same as all KA novels with angst then the alpha saving the heroine? Prob not, it has always worked for me before. Oh no, is it that I am outgrowing K ...more

This story is another evidence of why I'm addicted to Kristen Ashley's books. I was immediately hooked by just knowing the hero's name. Raiden Ulysses Miller: how badass is that? And I liked the fact that after the initial misunderstanding, Hannah didn't waste her time unearthing reasons to justify avoiding Raid. She just went with the flow. Nice story and the epilogue was fantastic, though it was kinda saddening that (view spoiler)
