This book was definitely an emotional one.

The things I loved: Brooks and Maggie's friendship & relationship (as kids - SO cute! - and as they grew up); how much Maggie's dad loved her and showed her throughout the book; BROOKS and MAGGIE - terrific characters; Mrs. Boone was the sweetest, toughest, kindest, heartbroken grouch; how much love books received throughout the story; Calvin and Cheryl (view spoiler); the sweet ways love was shown (5 min ...more

This book was freaking amazing. This is only my second book by Brittainy Cherry, but I'm totally hooked. Her writing is amazing, and her books always bring out the feels in me.

Shelves: new-adult, kindle-unlimited, mystery, musician, romance, crime, audio, in-series-or-trilogy, favorites, futuristic

This book was almost perfect for me. For most of the book I thought this was going to be 5 stars for me, but there was a moment that turned it around for me in the opposite direction, plus I couldn't get past the fact that I didn't feel Maggie's family did enough to help her.

The story itself spans over a couple of decades from the time Maggie met Brooks and her new siblings when she was six, until they were adults.
