Doc Hollywood meets The Food Channel : Roxie Callahan is determined to never settle down in her childhood home in Bailey Falls, NY, nestled deep in the Hudson Valley. That would happen right around the time pigs would fly and she refuses to fall in love. Ever. She’s seen too much of her hopeless romantic mother flit from one relationship to another and she’s the epitome of no-strings, no commitment gal. When her career goes tits up because of butter (yeah, it’s best to just read it), she’s le ...more

Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good book that I enjoyed. Roxie Callahan is a chef in Hollywood. When her mom calls her with a request to run the family’s diner for the summer, Roxie does it, even though it’s the last thing she wants to do. Although Roxie hesitates because returning to small town life is the last thing she wants to do, a trip to the valley soon becomes a reality.
