An absolutely BREATHTAKING BEAUTIFUL READ!!! A Pound of Flesh by Sophie Jackson was an utterly addictive read that captured and gripped my heart from the opening pages. There are not enough of words to describe the magnitude of how beautifully epic, profound, stunning, gripping and touching this book was. In this beautiful tale, Ms. Jackson was able deliver a forbidden tale that will forever stay with me. A POUND OF FLESH is an unforgetta ...more

Extremely well-written and intriguing story.
I bought this book on release day because of the rave reviews I was seeing from bloggers on Facebook. I love a good student/teacher romance, so I just couldn't say no. Though I'm not sure I fell as deeply in love with the book as some others did, it was undeniably a great read. I am so conflicted when it comes to this book. I loved it but then I also hated it. It was lengthy, I started skimming towards the end cause it was getting too wordy when they were expressing their love to each other. But it was still really intense and I was still emotional at parts.
I found that Carter was sexier at the start, he turned too mushy at the end. I would have never believed it to be the same guy. I mean come on, at the start he was this was a total bad ass who intimidated people wi ...more

I finally finished this book. I say finally because it took me so long to wrap it up. When I started reading - no, even before I bought this book, I was fascinated by the plot, so I had high expectations for this one. Well, maybe since it took me so long to buy the book and start it, I wasn't interested anymore.
This is how I felt while reading this.
