What Members Thought

I'm a fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey series but I was disappointed with Grey, book #4. This was too much of a rehash of the same old, same old to me. Many alternate POV books reveal something new or at least a better understanding of why/who/when type things, but I just didn't get that from this one.

3 1/2 Mr. Grey Stars!
Well, what can I say... I wanted "more". This book is exactly what it was advertised as, Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian's POV. It's just not enough of what I wanted it to be. I wanted some insight into Christian's thought process and reasoning. What made Ana stand out from the others in his mind? Perhaps some scenes from when he and Elena were first together- not anything too graphic though, that would be weird. Maybe some scenes with he and Dr. Flin, or from his early ...more

I have to say that I was not impressed with this book. At first I was really looking forward to the book, as I though it was going to be like R.K. Lilley's Mr. Beautiful. Then I found out that it was going to be a re-tell from Christian's POV.
I really like the series as a whole and was very intrigued to read the passage of their first encounter from his POV at the end of the 3rd book. I am really disappoint in this book as to me it made him seem really shallow and very much his age of 27 in thi ...more

I can't say I loved it but I liked it, maybe not the Christian I hoped for and after all this time I was waiting for some different scenes, or at least a little less repetitive cause sometimes I had to skim...

Oh Grey Grey Grey...
I loved it so much.
The book doesnt add anything new to the story, I mean, I already know how its going to end, but at the same time, Christian pov adds so much more!
I loved his monologues!
I loved his freak out (yeah, the man DOES freak out, a lot!)
I loved the memories of his childhood after he's adopted!
It just gave a new perspective on Christian, and while some things were not how I picture him in my head before, I can totally accept this version.
And now, because I cannot he ...more

I heard quite a few people comment that they didn't like the book. It's a good thing I never listen to others and always read the book. I know that everyone has different tastes in things that is why we have so many different genres. I loved loved loved this book. It did exactly what the Author intended it to do that was to let her readers see things through Christian Grey view. I learned quite a bit more about him and you can see why he is Fifty Shades of Grey. This book made me judge Mrs. Robi

I finally got round to diving into this book and I was presently surprised on how much I was addicted to it ....
I love a story told in a male POV so finally getting inside the one and only Mr Grey's head was something else .....
I loved every word of it and couldn't but it down ..... it was like reliving the first book all over again..... Mr Grey is one kinky b*!tard ......
This book is a must read for all grey fans .... I had held off on it because i'm not a fan of same story different POV book ...more

I have to say loved getting into Christian Grey's head and reading about his perspective of meeting Ana. To me I liked his point of view a little bit better than Ana, you could see his internal struggles of being touched and having a real relationship with her. EL James you get another five star from me, I just love the fifty shades of grey trilogy it is one of my favorites by far, and I would love to see more in Christian Grey's point of view with the other two books.

Was it worth it? Eh not really. I skimmed 3/4 of it thinking it can't be any worse then the film. It all just felt pointless it wasn't even a re-telling of the original trilogy just the first book. Please tell me this doesn't mean there is going to be two more because honestly I'm done.
