Started out most reluctant as Mystery Man didn't have much of Brock and also it didn't show him in a good light, have a great desire to actually skip this one and jump onto either Mitch's or Motorcycle man, glad my OCD thing made me get to this one first.

I actually enjoy this one a lot, there's a lot less mystery and murder I started on this one as I just again cannot go on with the other one but would like another dose of alpha sweet male (I understand why fellow readers are addicted to KA now).

I actually enjoy this one a lot, there's a lot less mystery and murder/danger thing going on for this one (mayhem, though, of course, is still abound with great secondary characters in friend and family circle). And must say I was pretty surprised that even though there just seem to have a lot of family and exes issues going on, instead of the romance part which is more or less very settled very early on, I still really enjoy reading this a lot and through the other issues, I can see how Brock and Tessa's relationship strengthens.

What I really like about this one is the fact that the couple is going through some everyday problems that we as people not in a HEA romance might also experience (ok maybe not the crazy ex-es' antics) and you can really relate to. One also can see very early on how these two can support each other when issues arises, either by just being sympathetic, being there or by talking through the problems and shedding a different light on things. I also love how this is a more give and take relationship, and actually in this one, Brock's the one with tons of issues hanging all over him and I totally enjoy another really resilient but adorable heroine help him get through things while he still remain the he-man image (he's also not as in your face as a lot of the other KA heroes, he only stays firm when something matters to him, so not as autocratic and doesn't press my psuedo-feminist buttons as much as a lot of KA's other men.

I really do love Tessa, she's sweet and compliant but only because she is also easy going and giving (though at first I worried that she's too doormatish, I get what she is as I go along and I think her personality just happens to compliments Brock's so that together they're perfect. I really like the way she handles a lot of the situations in the book (I kept wondering how I'd have handled it given the same situation or what I'd have said and that's when I really marvel how great a characters she is with the way she deals with things and how she talks things through to others).

For me this was a 3.5 star read. I enjoyed the characters but I just felt it was missing something. I didn't fell as connected to Tess and Brock, definitely no where near the way I connected and rooted for Gwen and Hawk. It was bad just wasn't awesome. ...more
