I wasn't sure if I'd like this one since the hero wasn't shown in a great light in the first book of the series, but he really won me over. I ended up liking Brock more than Hawk. Tess was so sweet and loving...exactly what Brock needed. ...more

Reread May 22, 2025 ~ 4 stars
I've found with some rereading especially after so much time that view changed on the story, but in this case, I basically felt the same way. Tessa was too sweet, and a bit too naive for a woman her age. I still got pissed with how fast she forgave Brock for lying to her. I may not have felt this way if he got close to her for the job, but didn't take it to the place he took while he knew he had to lie to her.
