If a début novel falls short: Juliet Blackwell, who rescued my interest in both her series, is worth perseverance. I was delighted by this second volume making an exponential turnaround. “Dead Bolt” knocked the ball out of the park. It must take thick skin, to weave your imagination into literature that the public sees and then critiques. I believe Juliet is among the rare, who brave feedback of their writing and make lemonade out of it. It must be how her volumes improve so successfully.
